Big data basic information
big data (Big Data), the IT industry term, refers to the collection of data that cannot be captured, managed and processed with
conventional software tools within a certain time frame. Big data is a massive, high-growth and diversified information asset that
requires new processing models to enable stronger decision-making, insight discovery and process optimization.
1 Byte =8 bit
1 KB = 1,024 Bytes = 8192 bit
1 MB = 1,024 KB = 1,048,576 Bytes
1 GB = 1,024 MB = 1,048,576 KB
1 TB = 1,024 GB = 1,048,576 MB
1 PB = 1,024 TB = 1,048,576 GB
1 EB = 1,024 PB = 1,048,576 TB
1 ZB = 1,024 EB = 1,048,576 PB
1 YB = 1,024 ZB = 1,048,576 EB
1 BB = 1,024 YB = 1,048,576 ZB
1 NB = 1,024 BB = 1,048,576 YB
1 DB = 1,024 NB = 1,048,576 BB
By 2020, more than 50 billion smart devices will be connected worldwide. These devices will generate data in zettabytes (zettabytes)
per year, growing to more than 150 zettabytes by 2025.
In the Age of Big Data, written by Victor Mayer-Schonberg and Kenneth Kukyer, Big data refers to the use of all data for analysis and
processing without shortcuts such as random analysis (sample surveys). The 5V characteristics of big data (proposed by IBM) : Volume,
Velocity, Variety, Value, and Veracity.
Big Data features:
Volume: The size of the data determines the value and potential information of the data under consideration.
Variety: the variety of data types;
Velocity: The speed at which data is obtained;
Variability: Processes that impede the processing and efficient management of data;
Veracity: the quality of the data;
Complexity: Large amount of data from multiple sources;
value: The rational use of big data to create high value at low cost
The value of big data is reflected in the following aspects:
1) Enterprises that provide products or services to a large number of consumers can use big data for precision marketing;
2) Small and medium-sized enterprises with a small and beautiful model can use big data to transform their services;
3) Traditional enterprises that must transform under the pressure of the Internet need to keep pace with The Times and make full use
of the value of big data.
Trend 1: Resourcing of data
Trend two: Deep integration with cloud computing
Trend 3: Breakthroughs in scientific theories
Trend four: Data science and the formation of data alliances
Trend 5: Data breaches are rampant
Trend 6: Data management becomes a core competency
Trend 7: Data quality is key to BI (Business Intelligence) success
Trend eight: Data ecosystems are becoming more complex
Industrial big data
May 13, 2020 The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology issued the "Guidance on the Development of Industrial Big Data"
Industrial big data is the general term for the whole life cycle data of products and services in the industrial field, including the data
generated and used by industrial enterprises in the research and development design, production and manufacturing, operation
and management, operation and maintenance services, and the data in the industrial Internet platform.
In December 2016, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology issued the Big Data Industry Development Plan (2016-2020),
making it clear that by 2020, the revenue of big data-related products and services will exceed 1 trillion yuan, with an annual
compound growth rate of about 30%, accelerating the construction of a data power, and providing strong industrial support for the
realization of a manufacturing power and a network power.
According to the data of China Research Institute, the global big data market size in 2018 was 45.4 billion US dollars, and industrial
big data accounted for more than 50% of the total size of global big data, which shows that industrial big data has become the main
field of development of the global big data industry.
In the future, in the deepening development of Industry 4.0 represented by Germany and the development of intelligent manufacturing
in other countries, the market size of global industrial big data is expected to be $48 billion in 2020, accounting for about 60% of the
total size of big data.
The first stage of smart manufacturing: digitization
In the last decade, due to the development of the IOT, a large amount of data has been generated, for example, our personnel
positioning system, one data per second, 2,000 people's work, calculated in 10 hours a day, will produce 72 million records, if the
action is linked, more than 100 million data per day.
Industrial big data is the basis of intelligent manufacturing, without digitization, there will be no digital twin, there will be no
intelligent manufacturing, digital is the way to intelligent manufacturing after all.
But only after the data is fully mined, can it be transformed into information that can be understood.
